APPENDIX 1.   Faculty Representatives

Elected or appointed representatives of the faculty on campuses of the University System (University of New Hampshire, Keene State College, Plymouth State University, and Granite State College) are "responsible for attending all meetings of the full Board of Trustees, for providing information and opinion as the Board may request or require, and for informing their campus constituencies of actions taken by the Board." Representatives:

(1)   Receive notices of all meetings of the full Board;

(2)   Receive agenda materials for all meetings of the full Board at the time such materials are distributed to members of the Board;

(3)   Respond to questions posed by the Chairperson or any member of the Board during meeting discussion, and address the Board subject to recognition by the Chairperson of the Board.

Representatives to the Board of Trustees include: University of New Hampshire campus - the Faculty (1); Keene State College campus - the Faculty (1); Plymouth State University campus - the Faculty (1); Granite State College - the Faculty (1).

Representatives to the Trustee Committees: Elected or appointed representatives of faculty on campuses are recognized by the Trustees' Financial Affairs Committee (one faculty member); and the Programs and Services Committee (one faculty member from each campus; one PAT member from the System Personnel Policies Council - Faculty/PAT; and one Operating Staff member from the System Personnel Policies Council - Operating Staff).

Representatives to committees of the Board:

(1)   Receive notices and attend all meetings of the committee to which they are named.

(2)   Receive agenda and background materials for all meetings of the committee at the same time such materials are distributed to Trustee members of the committee.

(3)   Respond to questions posed by the Chairperson or any member of the Board during meeting discussion, and address the committee subject to recognition by the Chairperson.

(4)   Report back to appropriate campus groups the discussion and recommendations of the committee.

(5)   Do not vote on issues before the committee.

Each campus is responsible for determining the manner in which its Representatives to the Board of Trustees and to the Committees of the Board of Trustees will be designated. Representatives of the System Personnel Policies Councils are elected by those councils.
