C. Employment

11.   Employment Breaks-PAT/EE and Operating Staff

11.1   Employment Breaks of One Year or Less

11.1.1   Non-exempt-Operating Staff. An Operating Staff member whose break in service from the University System is less than one year shall have his/her service "bridged" for purposes of computing eligibility for retirement, seniority, earned time (USY V.A.11) and longevity (USY V.F.7.5.6). The starting rate of pay shall normally be in accordance with USY V.F.8.1.

11.1.2   Exempt-PAT/EE Staff. A PAT/EE whose break in service from the University System is less than one year shall have his/her service "bridged" for purposes of computing eligibility for retirement and years of service. The starting rate of pay shall normally be in accordance with USY V.F.8.1.

11.2   Employment Breaks Greater than One Year

11.2.1   For breaks of service from the University System greater than one year, credit for all previous service will be given to Operating Staff for the purposes as cited in USY V.C.11.1.1 and to PAT/EE for the purposes as cited in USY V.C.11.1.2 after three calendar years of employment following return to work.
